KALPANA CHAWLA - Last Journey

Kalpana Chawla  (March 17, 1962 – February 1, 2003), was a notable Indian-American astronaut and a famous space shuttle mission specialist. Kalpana Chawla did her earlier schooling at Tagore Public School, Karnal. She earned her Bachlor of degree (aeronautical engineering) in Punjab engineering college in 1982. She moved to US in 1982 and obtained her Master of Science degree (aerospace engineering) from Texas University in 1984. She earned a second Master of Science degree in 1986 and PhD in aerospace engineering in 1988 from Colorado University. She was one of seven crewmembers killed in the Space Shuttle Columbia disaster.
