It monitors your cardiac rhythm, a unique signature for each person and constantly authenticates your identity with devices by wirelessly interaction till you remove the device.  The company says that it has potential to control smart phones, computers, televisions, tablets, banking accounts, unlock car doors and even pay for coffee by waving a hand at the register.

What happens when you exercise or are under stress? The company explains that the Nymi verifies only once when you put it on.  Once it has identified you, it won't lose track of you until it is removed.  So, it is recommended to put it on in a relaxed state that you could replicate easily.

 

What happens if it is lost? If this bracelet is lost, it can’t be misused since the system is in sync with the owner’s heartbeat. The company claims that the system is “both tamper-proof and impossible to duplicate.” The Nymi bracelet is now available for pre-order at US$79 for the first 25,000 customers with the later price set at US$99.

Smartphone App to track Battlefield objects

New software has been developed to track the exact location of distant objects and monitor their speed and direction which would be very useful to soldiers in battlefield to better target the location of their enemies. This app provides so many tools in a single, readily available, relatively inexpensive package. With this application if the target size is known, a single image is enough to pinpoint the target's location. If the target size is unknown, the software uses two images to triangulate the location of the target. If the target is moving, with the short video of moving target, this software can calculate the speed and also in what direction target is moving. The improved battery life, camera resolution and GPS accuracy makes the software to provide more accurate observations and also it is more user-friendly. It is not restricted only to soldiers and could be used by everyone. 

Google Jelly Bean Tablet @ $125

Karbonn Mobiles has unveiled 7-inch Jelly Bean Tablet which is using Google's latest OS at the price of around $125. Due to which the prices of tablets running with Android 4.1 OS are being dropped. Two months back Google's Nexus 7 was announced which starts at $199 which is almost $75 costlier than the latest release. 

This 7-inch screen tablet runs on a single-core MIPS processor at a clock speed of 1.2GHz. It has a 2-megapixel front camera, 3G support through a dongle, and seven hours of battery life. It has 32GB of expandable storage and is likely to be a micro-SD slot. Google's Nexus 7 is having quad-core Nvidia Tegra 3 processor, a 7-inch high-resolution screen and up to 16GB of internal storage.

Few models of Tablets with MIPS processors have not been popular despite the low price under $150.  It had a plan of releasing new 7-inch tablet Miumiu W1 with .2GHz MIPS processor, a front camera, a micro SD slot from Chinese company Ramos in India, Latin America and Europe. MIPS is competing against ARM, whose processors go into most tablets such as Apple's iPad. According to analysts, the new MIPS processors are more power efficient and faster comparable to current ARM processors in performance.

GOOGLE @ 3G AUCTION IN INDIA

Google is looking at Broadband Wireless Access (BWA) / WIMAX in INDIA and is set to participate in the upcoming 3G/WiMAX auction with an Indian partner scheduled on 14th January, 2010. Foreign companies are also allowed to participate in this auction but Non-India companies will need to find Indian partners because foreign companies can buy only up to 74% equity. Google is likely to join with MNTL to bid in the auction. Google shows more interest on Indian 3G which is about to explode as it may have a chance to get into the possibly biggest market of mobile telephony. India is the largest single-country WiMAX opportunity in the world, with most of the major operators actively pursuing WiMAX. Already Google has submitted a proposal to US regulators for clearance to use unused channels, Wi-Fi 2.0 and on which it is possible to offer wireless broadband services at very high speeds. Yet there is an opposition by some people against the inclusion of foreign companies in the auction stating that Indian companies competent for the 3G technology.
