PROPELLERHEAD REASON 6.5

Propellerhead Reason 6.5 has won two MusicTech awards and people would be so curious to know what special it has? The special feature in this award-winning version is the introduction of Rack Extensions through which developers can create their own instruments and effects for Reason and also they expand their collection of instruments and effects. MusicTech magazine has rated 9 out of 10 and has given MusicTech Choice and Innovation awards. Interesting fact of this software is it is nicely streamlined without any disk images or installers. Since each rack extension is sandboxed, it will just stop making sound but still working in case of any crash.

Firefox OS vs Android OS

Firefox is a well known and one of the best web browser which often have some fights with Internet explorer and Google chrome. There will be always some new releases, version updates and addition of new features to stay in the race over other browsers and so always people can find the Firefox against the word ‘versus’ in articles. Even this time Firefox is going to compete but with its new face. Yeah, this time it is Firefox versus Android in terms of Operating System (OS). The upcoming mobile operating system by Mozilla is expected to arrive before March 2013 and the first device with Firefox OS will cost less than $100 which is comparatively cheaper than the Android operating system from Google.

Firefox is planning to launch its own HTML5-based mobile OS which is mainly for Smartphone. This platform ensures that the web apps will be compatible with all editions of the OS released till date.  Firefox OS will not need expensive hardware and hence Smartphone will be available in market at cheaper prices without affecting its features. Phones running on Firefox OS will have all the standard features such as camera, Bluetooth, USB port and Near Field Communication. Since we get lot of features at cheaper price, we can say this as dual-beneficial product.

VPS HOSTING STACKS

Virtual Private Server (VPS) is an elixir to the people who feels that the shared hosting is not handling the exact requirements of their blog visitors. It offers lot of direct and immediate benefits over shared web hosting with multi-blog hosting facility. When a blogger wanted to manage multiple blogs at a time and also to overcome the heavy traffic which exceeds the bandwidth of shared host, he/she will go for VPS. By default, the basic VPS will be having only the basic software which may not suit your requirements. This can be dealt with the addition of VPS hosting stacks like cPanel which will have some pre-installed software which can also be customized as per user’s requirement.

Addition of stacks not only saves the time but also fulfills the requirement with some factors like easy setup, effective management and configuration which overcomes the disadvantages of dedicated and VPS servers. Stacks like cPanel, WordPress, Minecraft, Plesk interface etc can be obtained through service like DotBlock at cheaper rates than anywhere else. Depending on the type of VPS host you can set up your email accounts, FTP accounts, databases and sub-directories for each domain. Usually bloggers would choose Plesk interface for easy server management on both Windows and Linux-based operating systems and cPanel, which stick to the basics for effective performance. In general Apache, IIS7 & IIS7.5, nginx would the top 3 Web Servers for VPS Hosting of which Apache is the most powerful development platform for Linux VPS. IIS7/7.5 works with all Microsoft operating systems including the places where Apache has problem in some OS configurations and .ngnix works virtually across all OS and platforms.

Basically VPS is known for its customization, security privacy, dedicated resources and multi-site, multi-blog hosting. VPS provides unique IP address to the users which helps in increasing the reliability for a website due to which the VPS would remain unaffected even if another hosting account on the same server is hacked. VPS hosting offers privacy where users can get access with full administrative rights which enables them to have complete control over the content hosted on the server. Since VPS allows dedicated CPU, RAM, bandwidth and disk space, no single user can take away all the bandwidth capacity and hence it can be said as regulated resource. It allows bloggers to host multiple sites on their servers, including WordPress, CMS-based sites like Drupal and Joomla. The main advantage of VPS hosting is the setup of multiple domain at the cheaper cost than shared server hosting  which is cost effective. Shared server sites would need to pay for its additional domain names as well as for the additional server space.

KKR LIFTS IPL-5 TROPHY

The most awaiting result of fifth IPL has been finally revealed after a war between nine teams for almost two and a half months. The under estimated Shah Rukh Khan’s KKR lifted the IPL-5 trophy after beating the defending champions CSK. The fantastic final was played between Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) and Chennai Super Kings(CSK) MA Chidambaram Stadium, Chepauk, Chennai. A heroic knock of 89 by Manvinder Bisla and Kallis took away the trophy from CSK and it’s a full stop for the hat-trick dreams of CSK fans. Earlier, CSK made 189-3 with good batting performance by Vijay, birthday boy Hussey and Raina setting a tough target of 190 for KKR to win. Chennai was in the driver seat when Gambhir returned to pavilion earlier but the MOM Bisla took the game away from CSK with a knock of 89 off 48 balls. He was given a strong support by the legend Kallis with 69 to his part. Gambhir expressed this victory as ‘Mission accomplished’ and in the presentation ceremony he praised the local boy Lakshmipathy Balaji as the unsung hero of our team. Unfortunately he was missed out due to injury yet he has done his part than expected in the league matches.
